The locals

It has been wet and miserable at our place for a week now and some of the locals are quite fed up and getting very hungry.

Not quilt related I know but I’m enjoying seeing some colour for a change instead of the usual grey and miserable wet weather!

Today the sun is shining for the first time in quite a few days and so to celebrate a new design.

I thought the swags looked a bit more ‘modern/contemporary’ like this, a bit different at the least.

I often think how great it is to see pieced borders on a quilt instead of the usual plain border. I was playing around with border ideas and came up with this…

but actually I think it looks better with a plain border like this…

Oh well – back to the drawing board as the old saying goes.

Have you been over to see Wayne Kollinger’s quilt blog. Wayne plays with block grids and alphabet blocks and comes up with some new layout designs.
