Archive for December, 2010

I love fuchsias and I used to have quite a few of them, that was before I found patchwork. Now I just have a couple of very simple easy to grow plants. They keep on growing, even when mostly neglected because my interest is elsewhere. My other plants … well they died.

I’m still keen on these simple fresh colours at the moment.

Everything has been packed away for Christmas, so today has been quite an ordeal getting everything back into place and running smoothly again. Set my computer back up and immediately upon switching it on a loud bang and the smell of an electrical problem was apparent. Luckily a spare power supply was available and some time later, without my wi-fi internet connection but with a long cable, things were running smoothly. Hopefully when no 1 son visits this week other problems will be sorted.

Been very tired and yesterday I had to get some extra sleeping time mid morning to catch up after the build up to and madness of Christmas. Still feeling sluggish and looking forward to an early night.

Quite happy with version number 1.

Dislike version number 2.

Very happy with version number 3.

I’ve been working hard on my Bonnie Hunter Double Delight (mystery from last year.) The colours in my alternative double nine patch blocks are a little subtle but I quite like that. Anyway the blue fabric was what was  on sale available a few weeks ago when I decided to take on this large quilt.

This was supposed to be the project I took on while waiting for the arrival of the weekly installment of Bonnie’s new mystery, Roll Roll Cotton Boll. The Double Delight has taken all my time and the new mystery quilt has been neglected after the first installment and will be packed away for Xmas. You never know we may need our dining table at some stage when the relatives descend upon us! lol

I’m working feverishly to get the basics of Double Delight assembled before I have to pack it away as well.

Another version using the same layout. I think I prefer yesterday’s quilt.

I was experimenting with the new feature in EQ7 of being able to transfer quilt layouts into new files. This is a layout I used in my Elevenses series of quilts. Great feature.
