Today is another block I made last week for a charity quilt. It is very bright and I will probably make another in softer tones. This block is called Top Hat. I combined a couple of patches in the outer triangles to reduce the number of fabrics required.

The inner square and outer triangle sections have been foundation pieced separately and then assembled.

I made this block last week for my local group to put into a charity quilt. It will be a sampler quilt. The blocks really are a mixed bag. The woman putting it together will have her work cut out for her.

This block was made using my Easy Dresden ruler by Darlene Zimmerman. I purchased it some years ago and have never used it. The whole process is  certainly speeded up and the results are quite impressive I think. smdresdentrbgThis is also the first time I tried to make a transparent background. I don’t think I quite have it  yet but definitely improving.

Playing around in EQ5. I love ‘making’ things with my software and should spend more time sewing instead of sitting at my monitor but I so enjoy the creativity this allows.

This is one of nine I have had put away for a while. I foolishly ironed them ‘flat’ before I had attched the centre circles and of course they stretched a little. I’m not sure how you are supposed to keep the seams down and flat without ironing them of course! Anyway I decided to run with it and this one looks pretty good.

Had a trip to Aussie Patches monthly opening days and only picked up a couple of little extras – I was very good.

This is what I have been working on the last few weeks. Unfortunately I have discovered 3 blocks are missing, probably somewhere in my sewing room argghhh. I’ll have to put it away and keep looking meanwhile I have found another ufo to work on instead pictures later.

This is my first blog post and a test of all things bloggy. Hoping for better things later.

Hoping to leave a little snippet of something in the patchwork field most days (probably not week-ends though but from time to time this may happen too!) Happy stitching for now.
