Here’s a picture of the quilt top I finished a couple of weeks ago. Refer to my previous post here. It’s good to have something completed. Now on to the next task. Busy, busy, busy.

Same idea with a different sashing and sashing square treatment.
Not a favourite but I think it has potential.
I don’t mind this design.
I’ve been busy cutting 2.5″ squares for the scrap quiltalong and can only say how long it takes to achieve a small and accurately cut pile. I’m sure I haven’t cut nearly enough.
I tend to avoid ‘pretty’ fabrics as I like my quilts to look different from everybody elses but after searching through my fabrics I think I can safety say I collect a lot of ugly fabrics. It comes as a surprise to me but I’m betting not to my friends!
I’m enjoying these softer colours at the moment.
Simple clean lines. I find this an appealing design.
I love stripes and mitred corners. Takes some skill but well worth it.
I’m also giving serious consideration to participating in a scrap quiltalong being hosted by Katy ( she’s a Ginger Monkey). Katy’s suggesting ugly fabrics to make a thing of beauty. This really appeals to me and I do have some ugly fabrics. Perhaps I don’t have enough ugly fabrics so I’ll use some scraps and scraps of old backing fabrics as well. Although, the more I look at my fabrics I’ve come to realise many of my fabrics are in fact ugly. How ugly is ugly? The really ugly ones are difficult to find as they’re the ones pushed to the bottom of the fabric bins and you have to dig deep to find them. I’ve also discovered it takes a long time to press and cut them and at least 49 different fabrics is a lot of fabrics.
