I always suggest cutting overhead by selling PDFs on-line so the large down payment isn’t required. To me, printing up paper patterns is a time consuming and expensive way to begin. And, that’s just the beginning, because then the pattern has to be distributed. But, making the pattern a PDF and selling it on-line where customers use their own paper and ink to print it out is a GREAT impulse sales motivator. You can use Etsy, eBay or your own web site. Or, I see people selling on Facebook and Instagram as well. LOTS of inexpensive options. If you need help, my advice is priced right: *FREE* and I NEVER get offended if you don’t take it. 🙂 Been in the business since 1976, BTW. Twitter: @SunbonSmart Happy to help.
Thank you, I’m giving your advice serious consideration, been looking at Etsy and Craftsy as well. The easy option is to just sell the block patterns and not worry about a quilt pattern. I’m not sure I’m up to writing up quilt patterns or even have the time to make quilt samples.
