So here’s a picture of my quilt taken yesterday at a gathering of fellow quilters. Link to the blog here. Pins still in it and quilting not completed. In my defence I needed to have some handwork to take with me so I quickly attached the binding to it the afternoon before. I managed to complete sewing down one side of the binding.

The current project I’m working on is quilting this scrappy design. I’ve free motion quilted flowers, vines and leaves in the outer border and now I’m working on the detail quilting on the blocks.

I chose this design from one of the EQ quilt disks

but decided I would like less backtracking so I have changed the design to this instead. Actually I wish I had changed it just a little bit more as there is still some double stitching I could have avoided. Trouble is once you’ve completed your first block you don’t want to undo any quilting, well I don’t anyway.

A delicate design. I tried some border applique as well but it just didn’t seem to suit the design.
