I was browsing Lynne’s blog a few days ago and noticed her fantastic pieced Land Rover Defender in her post here. It is absolutely amazing, what an ingenious idea. Further down in her post she remarks she was actually thinking of making up her favourite car into a block but thought it too hard. Her favourite car being a Fiat 500. I’m guessing the older classic car not the modern one. Anyway it set me to wondering, could I design one. Well now I know why a Land Rover Defender was a good idea. It’s a large car with many straight lines which makes it a perfect patchwork block. Small cars with curves are not so easy to draw up, not impossible but certainly a challenge and will be to sew. Absolutely foundation pieced as well!
The cyclist could not guess what sort of car it is, I’m hoping other people will have more imagination then he does.
Then I thought what about another iconic car and started work on this one. Can you guess what it is before you hover your mouse over it?
What do you think? Anyway I’ve had enough of cars for the moment. We’ve had a long week-end and I’ve got a lot to catch up on. Ciao or adieu for now or whatever threads your needle!
